The World Bank Institute is looking for a short-term consultant to design and conduct a study on the effectiveness of South-South knowledge exchange as a capacity development instrument. It is anticipated that the study will be largely based on desk research of available information on South-South knowledge exchange practices and demonstrable results including identification and selection of illustrative cases that support findings. Interviews with relevant stakeholders may be also warranted.

Desired Profile (minimum requirements)

• Masters degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience including monitoring and evaluation and pedagogy
• Demonstrated skills and experience in the design, analysis and evaluation of capacity development and/or knowledge and learning programs in international development contexts
• First-hand experience with knowledge exchange instruments like study tours, communities of practice, and global dialogues is preferred
• Solid interviewing skills
• Fluency in the South-South knowledge exchange agenda is preferred
• Familiarity with World Bank operations a plus, which could include staff or consultant positions in Sector Units, or Sector Networks/Anchors
• Excellent writing and communication skills
