OAS a regional partner for Cooperation Effectiveness...

The Organization of American States (OAS), in its role as technical secretariat of the Inter-American Cooperation Network (CooperaNet), has committed to promoting the regional agenda for cooperation effectiveness in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The OAS is also acting as the regional platform of the Task Team on South-South cooperation (TT-SSC) in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This workshop serves as follow up to the Regional Dialogue on Cooperation Effectiveness in Latin America and the Caribbean, hosted by the OAS within the framework of the High Level Event of South-South Cooperation and Capacity Building that took place in Bogota, Colombia, March 24-26th, 2010.

The event is organized around working groups and expert roundtables designed to encourage debate and collect a broad range of opinions and perspectives. The conclusions of these discussions will be collected in a report summary that will be presented in the CIDI High Level Meeting of Technical Cooperation Authorities to be hosted in Guatemala, and further on presented as a regional input in Korea.

Therefore, over the next months, the OAS intends to anchor the regional process in LAC through subregional meetings in Barbados, Guatemala and Ecuador. These meetings will give room and space for policy-makers and practitioners of the Caribbean, Central America and South America in their bid for improved cooperation effectiveness and a strengthened South-South knowledge exchange.
