The World Bank Institute (WBI
) recently hosted the first in a series of global dialogues entitled "The Road from Copenhagen to Mexico." The purpose for the series is to find viable ways to finance climate change mitigation and adaptation, especially in developing countries.
Participants in this first dialogue were linked by videoconference through the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN
) and included policymakers as well as practitioners from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Japan, Mexico, and the Center for Clean Air Policy, as well as the World Bank. Their discussion focused on the track record of climate finance mechanisms over the past decade, and how the World Bank can help scale them up in the future. Read more
