Bali Workshop on Triangular Cooperation

TRIANGULAR COOPERATION: TOWARDS HORIZONTAL PARTNERSHIPS, BUT HOW?

Bali, Indonesia, Feb 28 - Mar 1, 2011

This workshop gathered practitioners and policy-makers predominantly from the Asian region to discuss, on the basis of emerging evidence, triangular cooperation as a tool for promoting horizontal partnerships.

More than 50 participants from America, Africa and Asia addressed the main challenges and lessons learned identified in triangular experiences and discussed new ways to configure successful cooperation schemes that effectively deal with key issues such as ownership and transaction costs.

The workshop was supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Indonesian Government and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).
