High Level Panel on South-South Cooperation

New modalities to operationalize ownership and mutual accountability

The global development landscape is undergoing significant change that shows, along with a mature North-South relation, a new dynamic bringing together developing countries with a view to engaging in collaborative models to share innovative, adaptable and cost-efficient solutions to address their challenges.

The South-South Cooperation complimentary to traditional aid has become the expression of relations between countries countries, committed to sharing knowledge and developing complementarities that go beyond their traditional role as aid recipients.

As recognized by the Busan declaration, this aid modality has the potential to increase development effectiveness. Triangular cooperation, acting as a bridge between South-South and North-South relations, contributes to the coherence of global engagement for poverty eradication.
